No.. he's just starting a thread for those who are interested in radar detectors in the new G can pull some of the discussion out of the modding thread and put it in it's own dedicated thread.

But seriously. I think G37 specific RD issues is probably what should go here.

Like:

The IR Laser is setting off my V1 detector, non stop.

And such oldies and goodies as:

How am I going to direct wire this thing?

(My foot is made of neutronium, one pound of which weighs 10,000 pounds!!)

I can learn to live with these issues.

do you have the Tech package with the intelligent cruise or will this happen in all models?

i have the 9500i gps detector and your solution would only work if you never moved your car! as it's gps you have to tell it "where" to ignore the false signal.. and since in herrings case his radar is setting it off all over the place it wouldnt work! I have the tech package as well but havent used active radar yet....

you could argue to just turn off the detector when active radar is in use cause if your tailing someone where active radar is needed you're probably in a pack of cars and the detector is not needed as much.

i'll look for workarounds and get back if i find anything.

Yeah, I have the tech package.

That intelligent cruise control is awesome, but you can't set a cruise speed over 90mph. With this car it makes it almost useless.

The Valentine 1 will let you turn off any of the detectors, so I turned laser off.

I wonder if this isn't a blessing. Maybe it is actively JAMMING the police laser speed gun? Probably not.

where will you permanently mount it? I had my x50 mounted on my visor and the wire was run by the glass, down the A pillar, and connected with a switched power supply (only when I turn the key).

Can someone tell me if visor mounting of the 9500i will render its GPS capabilities useless?

I just bought a Beltronics RX-65... got it for very cheap... it was between that, the STi Driver, Escort 8500 X50 or the 9500i. I just couldn't bring myself to spend 400+ on a radar detector. So I spent less than half on the Bel... it only came yesterday so I haven't had a chance to test it out much

Gotta get it hardwired though
