I'm pulling out my rearend with 4.08 gears next week.

Included are Whiteline bushings and the rear half of the driveshaft that is used to make this a simple bolt-on for the automatics (coupes). The VQ37VHR likes to rev and makes it's horsepower up high. 4.08 gears gets it to where you want to be.

The unit is in amazingly awesome condition! No gear whine at all. The bushings have less than three thousand miles on them and I'll confirm condition once I pull them out.

This is hands down the best bang for the buck mod you can do performance wise. You can spend $500 for an intake or $1000 for an exhaust and all you did was change the sound. Don't get me wrong, if that's the goal then great, it just didn't do anything to make the car faster. This will make the car faster.

Wish you had done this two months ago. I can attest the the weight because I had to walk around the house with it on my shoulder trying to figure out where to hide it. I skipped the gym that day. GLWS.

Yes, heavy! Just took the rearend from my basement to my parents house (it has a lift) and had to use a dolly to get it from the basement because I'm a wuss. Do you have a picture of your driveshaft?

Not sure what you are asking? Yes, it would work for the cars with the 7AT. I'm not sure of the driveshaft setup or lengths on the AWDs so you would have to look into that. I do know the AWDs rearend had a input coupling that was different from the autos and manuals (which were different). The correct back half of the driveshaft makes this work easy.

 

This is an old picture I used a few years ago when I was doing all the research to figure out how to do this mod correctly. This is not my driveshaft but rather one I got off the internet so I could ask some questions. The drive shaft is two pieces. The carrier bearing for the driveshaft is located in the same place on the car for both autos and manuals. The front half of the driveshaft is different in both length and coupling between the manuals and autos. That makes sense, two different transmissions. The rear half of the driveshaft should have been the same but Infiniti used two different rearends (differential housings) for the autos and manuals. The autos have a smaller housing and can not accept the 4.08 gear set. There is a different coupling between the two. The autos uses a tri-flange with a rubber connector and the manuals use four bolt flange with a u-joint.

 

If your car has the 4 bolt flange or the 6 bolt flange driveshaft you will be able to use diff from all 3 type of diff flange that can be found in the G (3, 4, 6 bolt). You can use a puller to change the flanges between different diff. The only exception is if you have a 3 bolt flange, in which case you'll need a new drive shaft if you want anything besides a 3 bolt flange diff.

THIS WILL NOT WORK FOR AWD!! Your front diff and rear diff have to have the same ratio!

Yes we can. I've contacted everyone but GTM that previously made the Aluminum shafts this week and they all told me they only did Carbon fiber now. I just did'nt want to do Carbon so I passed.

 

So we can paired this with 6mt carbon fiber drive shaft? But why you didn't want to so carbon?

 

It is boxed up and being ready for shipment. Still excepting offers.
