^^you are correct. Door cap is the correct name for it, you can even see it below the part #

 

got the brushed aluminum trim piece on the door above the handler by chance?!?! hahah thats what i need. btw. PM me where you bought your replacement cause i'm looking to get the upper trim piece. thanks.

 

Nah sorry. My brushed aluminum I got them right when the 09 g's released. Bought them at the dealership
