Does playing GT5 for countless hours (presuming that you have) not help you understand the layout of the track pretty well? I know from playing simulations that where I would have problems are on Flugplatz and Aremberg.
HAHAHA I was just about to ask that same question. I got NFS:Shift for PC and that's the only course I race. I bought a 370z (in-game) and tried to detune it very slightly to approximate (if that can even be done) our cars so I could feel how it would be to go down this course in my G. I have a Logitech G27 racing wheel which I use with my Eyefinity setup and I drive it on pro-mode with all driver assists turned off, no HUD, nor racing line. So far my best time around the whole 12 mile Nordschleife is 9:30 seconds. For those of you who want to experience a virtual track day without all the costs or hassle of the real thing, search on youtube "eyefinity + (insert racing game here)" to get an idea.

Yea, it probably would get you used to the track layout, but I havent played a console in years.
I saw this pop up a couple days ago. From what I hear the actual track isnt going to close, its the one thing that actually generates money. Its the roller coaster and stuff that are on the chopping block.
