South Bend Clutch upgrade + ZCarGarage Review

Hi All,

My clutch has been slowly dying on me for few months. I've accumulated the parts and planned doing the job with my buddy, but he got busy and I decided it's best I get it done sooner than later. Plus, I wanted to get my test pipes installed and transmission fluid replaced. I reached out to Rob a ZCG and below is the break down in price for parts and labor.

Parts:
South Bend SS Clutch
South Bend 14.5 aluminum flywheel
ZSpeed HD Concentric CSC - Total Shipped from Zspeed :$1,115.50
OEM Nissan Clutch Master Cylinder - ZCG : $139
GTM Resonated test pipes - Craigslist :$180

Labor:
Clutch install : $550
Test pipe install(with clutch job) : $86.25
+1 Hour Labor to install Clutch Master: $115
Once the clutch goes in, I'll update the thread with my opinions and once it gets broken in, I'll upload my before and after videos of the test pipes.

(Moderator, please move to appropriate section if this isn't the correct one, I assumed since it's a review of a shop in the bay area that this would be beneficial to members surfing this regional forum.)

I've not priced this out yet myself, but numbers look very reasonable for a full clutch job, including better than oem parts.

I had all the parts and brake fluid ready for install, The only issue to come up was that I need a replacement master. I did some research and spoke with a Nissan master tech and came to the conclusion that since my master was replaced <5000 miles ago, I should be okay. Rob wasn't able to bleed and get pressure when installing the parts, and suggested I get a master, which I did.

Day 1 : Pedal feels amazing!! The play before was huge and close to no pressure. now, the pedal is lower and stiff. It makes engaging the clutch more clean and direct. I had a stage 2 Exedy on my WRX, and like the clutch feel, this is tons better. I honestly might feel it more following leg days at the gym.

Also the test pipes sounds great from the cabin. Slight rasp, but nothing crazy. I feel Like it just enhances the stock sounds and make it more robust.

150 miles down,350 more for until break-in
