Can we access G37 Sedan passenger side sunroof drain hose plug from outside?

Hello all,

I have been trying to locate where Sunroof Drain Hose Plug for G37 Sedan passenger side is being drained to.. Does anyone know if this plug can been seen from outside the car (near battery)? If you follow the diagram it goes right outside the corner windshield but can't locate it for my sedan? Am I crazy? I have seen many and tones of photo from inside the car where plug is but none from the outside.

You are not crazy. The drain grommet is not accessible from the outside:

The drain is located under that lip and far back toward the firewall. Water drains out and down. There is no way you can access it and even if you could, the drain is installed from the cabin passenger-side of the firewall.

Trust me, if it was possible to replace from outside, tons of "f-bombs" would have been saved by many!

Alight thanks.. a follow up question.. On my vehicle i tested if there is a sunroof leak by pouring water into the drainage. I observed the water to be coming out here in the photo. Is that normal behavior ?

where i observed water dripping from sunroof plug.

That is normal and exactly where the water drains out and down. The issue becomes that on some cars, water can leak into/under the firewall wiring harness grommet(s) and drip into the passenger cabin as well. Many users have opted to add a bead of silicone sealant around the base of those harness grommets to help mitigate that potential issue.

It is a stupid design where Nissan should have added a plastic tube to ensure water drains down AND AWAY from the electrics straight to the ground... but they have/had to save those pennies somehow.
