I figured there was a thread on this already, searched briefly but didn't see anything. Only bought mine in January, sold my beater civic and registered the G on Saturday followed by Snow Sunday, Monday and Thursday. Car came with summer tires so i managed to make it to and from work with minimal sliding; i was surprised how well it did on summer Yokohama's in some very wet and slippery snow.

I don't plan to purchase a beater for next winter, am a 'big drive it everywhere advocate' with cars and motorcycles(for the most part). Was curious who else daily drives your rwd G37's in snow, rain, sleet etc?

I used to daily my old M3 and had blizzak snows on it, never once had an issue, i would think this would be the same and maybe even better since it weighs a bit more. Obvious down sides are the low ground clearance and having to take your baby into the cold rough climate

 

I'm in the same boat...I didn't drive it much unless it was dry but think next winter it will have to happen. My CL is about to be dead. I think some good snow tires and maybe some extra weight in the back and it would be okay.....

 

I daily drive mine and have no issues with snow tires. Granted I have the whole wheel package and snow tires from tire rack since i dont want to use my 19's in the winter and rightfully so after the winter us Bostonian's had.

 

Are you guys lowered? What is the options for snows that don't look absolutely ridiculous?

 

I'm not lowered, I'm only running Hotchkis sways as part of my upgrades which can make the car a bit stiff in the winter. I'm running 18's for the winter, you can build that package off tirerack.com which is what I did.

 

i drove my awd coupe during this winter with all season tires but traction was not that great. Dedicated snows may have been better. I'm lowered on eibach and the all seasons are 18s. Clearance was not an issue like 90% of the time. There were times when the back roads weren't plowed so the bottom of the "plastic cover" will scrape but the front bumper was not scrapped at least thus far

not really, I used to go when I was into all that. Now for some reason I'm lame and boring.

 

on some of the days we had this yr i would have never ever been able to go home from work with rwd

that being said this is like maybe 6 days out of a whole year that you are f*ckd

there are many xS coupes in the area, I see them all the time at the dealerships.
