Two weeks, people. Who's getting their car prepared, now that we have some decent weather?
I've been claybar'ing and waxing sections of the car, time permitting. Today I cleaned the windows inside and out, then claybar'd the exterior glass, washed and treated with Rain-X. Damn rain-x is a b1tch to buff out. Going to get out the LEXOL for the leather interior later.

Goodness, I haven't been doing squat. It will definitely show it's my daily.

The engine bay is fine, because I spent a few hours on that after the HFC's were installed. However, this is what I did today:
- All Glass claybar'd on the outside, cleaned, treated with Rain-X and buffed out (Ouch).
- Weatherstripping cleaned, then treated with silicon spray.
- Plastics cleaned and treated with protectant
- Carpets spot-cleaned, shampoo'd and vacuumed.
- All-season matts cleaned and treated with protectant.
- Roof, front-end, and hood claybar'd and waxed.
- Leather cleaned and conditioned with LEXOL products.
- Exhaust tips cleaned, and polished.
My right wrist hurts now, and once again for entirely selfish reasons.
I just finished an 8 hour Detail on my sedan.
Wash and blower dried. Clayed the entire car, Polished the body, then Sealant (Jet seal) then Mothers Wax. Only applied Rain-x to the windows. I know how you feel John after all the work, I am exhausted.

The only thing I gained from spending so much time washing, claying, polishing, and waxing my car last weekend was frustration for how many rock chips I have in my front bumper, and door dings on my passenger side doors...
Oh well it is a daily driver and not a museum piece after all...

Plural? Oh man, that sucks. I saw a Moonlight White G25x on the highway a few days ago and was discussing the differences with my kid after she said, "Dad! That's just like your car!" (Sigh
) One thing that was clearly different were all the painfully obvious door dings. The poor girl driving the car... She probably doesn't notice or care. Not sure if that speaks poorly of her, or me. Maybe both. In the way of automotive values, or simply respecting your property, one of us doesn't care enough, and the other cares disproportionately too much. So in that context, Kirk, you're probably doing just fine.

When I moved down to TN I was driving an 8 year old TrailBlazer. Visually in decent shape, couple rock chips on the hood etc. with 5 months it looked like someone consisnptently shot the car with BBs or pellets on both doors. Frigging people here just don't care. Maybe not just here I dunno.
It's better with the G since I now go out of my way to try and ensure I can hide from other parked vehicles but even at that several dings and one nasty scuff. I think they'll lift out eventually but we'll see.

Back on topic... We're almost close enough to the date to start trolling weather forecasts.
Geeze, I hope it's a dry day. Warm (enough) would be nice, too.
If anyone wants to obsess over this with me, put this link in your list: http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/18644

Man, reading what you guys do for detailing makes me jealous. My coupe has swirls up the a**. Front bumper is going to need to be repainted as it has been murdered by chips; may be a good time to mold the splitter.
I'll take dry for sure, I don't mind wearing a sweatshirt or cover garment if needed. Best I can usually get is a ten day forecast, I don't know if they're ever really right but they're there at least.

10 Day Weather Forecast for 18644 - weather.com
Hopefully Mother Nature gets all the wet weather out of her system early in the week. On the up side, there should be plenty of payers out for nice weather over the weekend. That's also Spring Carlisle weekend.
