I called Uprev today and that is unsure. A CAE and full catback definitely calls for a tune. I have been experiencing some RPM lag/delays. A tune is necessary or beneficial for any mod that is associated to air flow changes. i wouldn't recommend getting one if all you have is a CAE but if you have that in addition to a catback, it's hardly a waste of money. Essentially what you're saying is that HFC is the determining factor, that makes no sense. I suggest going to uprev.com and reading up on each package and for further inquires, call them at 521 821 9848and they're clarify any misconceptions.

 

Let me rephrase, it would be a waste because the gains from the tune would hardly be worth even the 450. Also if you plan on adding something further down the line you would need to get another dyno tune. Just my 2 cents. By all means if you like I will let you know If a spot opens up...

 

Is there anyway i can get in on this, if someone backs out? i would just need it shipped to me and i would pay for that.

Do you know if performance motorsports sell the uprev osiris tuner?

 

They probably do but your best bet would be to buy it direct from uprev.

 

This looks like a sweet deal. Too bad I don't know enough about what it actually does. Can someone give me a run down on what the tune actually does? I'm a noob at modding.

 

They modify your ecu to pump out the maximum horses while giving you better mpg. They adjust everything from the air to fuel ratio to the shifts on your transmission (if your auto).

The thing is our engines are pretty well tuned from the factory and will not see a big change if you don't have HFC/ Test Pipes, full exhaust, and an intake.

Thanks for the info! I currently have a Short Air Intake and a Cat Back...looking for some HFC's though and I guess I would need the tune after that....This is up in New York?

Yup if you add bolt -on's you will need to retune, that will run you another ~200.

This is in New York, Long Island to be specific.

This is a group buy for the license and tune, kinda like a package deal. I'm pretty sure you're better off getting the license alone from Uprev.
