That is the VVEL actuator motor/ assembly/ bank 2.

Unless you have codes or driveability issues you'd be wise to leave it alone.

Thank You!!!!

Thank you for the quick reply! You are correct, I could not get that answer on a google search to save my
life. Unfortunately it may need to be changed and may be outside of my wheelhouse on the timing…..a little above my knowledge base for sure 🤦🏻‍♂️

It is not a simple job to say the least. You can't just unbolt it and swap a new new one on there. While the VVEL system on these cars can be noisy at times it is, for the most part, pretty stout.

What are your symptoms? What is leading you toward VVEL (actuator) replacement?

The VVEL is making a loud clicking noise and I’m also getting a Random Misfire Code and running a little more sluggish than normal. I will have to get the reader back out to get the exact Code # if you need it!

Any additional information would help but that is your call. Also, age and mileage?

The dreaded P0300... the mother rabbit hole of all codes. Unfortunately with that generic code it can be anything...

There are tons of threads on here that address the P0300. Without hands on diagnostics it will be hard to diagnose. However, given you have a 2010 there is a strong chance the gallery gaskets are failing.

Before you start throwing parts at it I would suggest you get a oil pressure test performed. This will give a good starting point and, depending on the results, help you decide whether to sell the car or not.
