Hope y'all made it out safe. But unfortunately yes it is totalled. When the adjuster is writing the car up make sure to go over the amount to ensure they are giving you top dollar for it especially in this current market.
Thanks for the info , Question is I am in Florida and its a NO-FAULT state , since the car was barely driven I only had minimal basic insurance . That being said , will I even get anything at all ? or am I am a total loss here ?
I have no idea what “minimal basic insurance” is in FL but it sounds like liability only insurance. If that’s the case you will not be paid anything for the cars value. The policy would only cover the damages caused to another vehicle/property/person.
Does your policy paperwork show any coverage for collision or comprehensive?
Since the kid hit you and caused the accident your insurance should go after the kids insurance for cost of damages, even totaled. Was there an accident report from the police showing he hit you? We just went through the same deal with my wife’s car. Our insurance company stepped in and had the other drivers insurance pay.
So sad to see this. This is a rare car, it's technically an anniversary coupe which was the IPL predecessor. It was an IPL without fogs/IPL stiching/IPL engine cover/IPL tuning.
You'll need to go after the other driver's insurance and hope they had good coverage.
If they did then you'll be written a check for the car since it's totaled for sure. You can ask how much to buy it back, it should have monaco red interior which is worth some good money, along with engine and transmission.
I suspect you should get around $3500 if you sold the car privately wrecked. Insurance might give you $6-7k depending on the kids insurance maybe more depending on if you can prove the immaculate condition your car was in.
Don't expect anything other than a higher policy next year from your insurance.
Makes me sick to my stomach since I have two boys and I have my fair share of car accidents. Good luck.
Sorry to hear of your mishap. Sad to see a nice G like that all twisted up. That may actually be repairable, but not worth it given the value of the car (from the insurance co's perspective).
