Recently acquired my 2008 G37S 6 spd. The car was featured at the 2008 Las Vegas SEMA show, and put in storage for many years. Hence, the low 990 original miles. I'm somewhat new at this and hope to drive my car soon, pending my ability to do so.

Welcome to the forum. That car is going to be a treat - make sure you have someone go over all the belts, hoses, and fluids with it having sat for so long. Other than the rubber parts, should be mint.

In my opinion something so fresh should be kept like that. You can use the momentum of the feature to either show off the car (status/likes/etc) or little by little start "restoring" it back to stock. Such a low mileage car can yield good money.

Hear me out, this car can yield two G37s in decent condition or even another G37 and enough cash to make 500whp. Something so low will have you hating yourself if something were to ever happen to it, at the same time it kind of hinders you psychologically from kind of enjoying it.

Welcome to the forum.

PS: if you dont mind sharing, what do you mean about pending your ability to drive it? Disability/Age?

Heck of a find.

Put into storage perhaps, but that's a 2010+ IPL front bumper on your 2008, so somebody was doing something with the car.

Yes, apparently the car has been stored in a UV free environment. All rubber appears like new, fully pliable, and no minuture fisure cracks you would encounter in cars exposed to sunlight. Belts and hoses appear new as well. The tires appear to be dated 2007 by its codes. Again, no visible aging at all. I've driven it about 140 miles, but it is sitting at 990 miles total right now. Unfortunately, it is uncomfortable to drive at this time, due to a herniated disc in my back (similar in location to Tiger Wood's hernia that kept him off the course for a number of years in his past). So, for now, I'll keep it garaged.

You are correct. The IPL front was obviously added after the SEMA show somewhere in its first 850 mile life. Personally, I would have preferred it came with the original front end.

Tires get compromised with age even if they look brand new. There's a theory that Paul Walker died because the tires on Porsche were really really old.

Rubber on my G37S

Yes, the rubber was my first concern when I got the car. I took it in for service at Nissan Specialist in San Jose, CA. They specialize mostly on the 370Z series and Infinity's. Jim at the shop couldn't believe the condition of the car. He told me that he would be happy to replace all the belts and hoses, but that the condition of such made it unnecessary and a waste of money. He said it was basically a new car. The tires are very soft high performance tires. Again, in new-like condition and no fissures or cracking noted. They are rated for only 10,000 miles and I may replace them with longer lasting newer all weather A-A rated tires.
