Stainless steel blackener
Stainless steel blackener
I want black lug nuts for my stock 19" mag style vert wheels. I put the black chrome "ape" brand on my winter ride and they are rusted after their first mild winter. So I started thinking about the stock stainless covered lug nuts. Maybe they can be dyed. Has anyone tried using the Caswell 370 gel kit?
Holy large font batman. (although I get it if you're only using mobile).
Are you talking about the stock shank-style lug nuts, or acorn-style?
I have these: and have for about a year and a half, no rust. But I'm also in the South - we don't have road salt here.
Can't comment on the gel - but what I've used on stainless steel in other applications is Cerakote. Easy enough to apply to something small like lug nuts and bake in the oven.
