Yeah title says it all, but should I just leave it? I've had my G for 5 years now and it seems to not be too much of an issue to only realize now. It's a couple hundred bucks I'd rather put towards something else. Thoughts?

Best advice: LEAVE IT ALONE!
Unless you are the original owner, more than likely the previous owner removed the fuse or did the "cut wire" route to disable the steering lock as a preventive measure. Some model years had "faulty" modules that failed and left the car immobilized/stranded. This repair is not cheap. The ESCL alone will run $800 (not including labor).

You can read more about the steering lock failures here as well as several other threads on here.

Like you said, 5 years in with no issues. Leave it be.

Christ, what a nightmare. Yeah, not the original owner so I'll steer clear of that nonsense. Thanks for the heads up!
