New owner of '15 Q40

Just picked up a Q40 last week, 31k off lease car. Replaced an 06 Altima SE 5-speed as my daily driver. Great car so far, feels weird to be driving an automatic again though! The Q actually feels a little slower right off the line than the Altima but that may just have been due to clutch abuse driving style lol or because the altima was so much louder it gave the impression of being faster? Either way love my new Q (ie G37)

Funny with the limited options on the Q40 most of the 15's I saw were less money than the '13 G37's with similar miles

Welcome! Plenty of options to make your Q as loud as your Altima.

Welcome to the site, congrats on the Q, and that RWD should add some of the excitement that you're missing w/ your AT. Glad you found us!

Thanks, my last RWD was a 77 Trans Am i picked up back in college. Ha - it was white too. Been decades since I’ve gotten to hang the back end out around a corner.

My only “mods” so far were washing and doing the compound/polish/wax thing saturday and washing the floor mats today lol

Carmax made it a super easy buying experience but their pre delivery detailing wasn’t the best I’ve ever seen. It was washed and vacuumed just not what I’d consider detailed. Quite a few paint spots and shadows and whatnot that came right up with just a tiny bit of effort.

I had done the resonator delete and intake on my altima. Read through the exhaust thread and muffler delete sounds pretty damn cool but maybe a little loud. Suppose it’s easy enough to try it for a day or two before i commit. Have to look around and see if there are any CA smog legal intake kits that are true cold air

At 31k miles you're probably due for some new tires. Not sure what came OEM on the Q40 but more than likely they're quite poor. I'd get some good max performance summers and put the intake on the back burner, even the true CAIs don't gain much TBH.

They put brand new tires on it before I bought it - not terribly happy with their choice in cheap tires, but they are brand new. Will give them a shot since new rubber is $$ but I do feel weird with Solar 4xs tires on a good car. As far as I can tell they are Sumitomo rubber tires sold through Walmart lol. Actually well reviewed on walmart..... but still

Yeah I assumed with dual intakes running straight to the front fender there wasn't a whole lot to be gained, but I do like the intake whoosh/growl of CAI

Just a heads up, unless something is different in the Q40, the CAIs run through the radiator support and meet behind the grill.

Welcome to the site and enjoy the drive!

Sumitomos aren't necessarily bad, the HTRZ is a decent summer tire for the price and their A/S version of that tire is also not a bad one. There are much worse, such as the OEM Goodyear RS-As which were standard on most RWD non-sport Gs.
