Thanks for the tip, I'll keep my eyes open for one.
Manuals are the hard find in sport sedans. Even if you do find one, be prepared to pay.

Ohh, I was keeping an eye out for 2012/2013 year models from previous advice.

I mean, I think a journey might just suffice and cover everything I may need. But since this is my first ever "fun" vehicle I'm getting and not your typical practical, responsible one I had for the last two. I'll keep looking for a S model. I'm so distracted from work at the idea of being thrilled every time I get into my future g37.

I think I settled on going auto and with a coupe for sure. I'm sure all of you are 100% correct with manual being the way to go but perhaps for another time!

I recommend driving an auto before setting your mind to it. I think you'll be surprised. It isn't like any auto I've ever drove before in terms of how twitchy it is.

2012 + is a good idea unless the service records show that a pre 2012 model was fixed using anything other than the inferior gasket.

Im so glad I'm not the only one that thinks that lol. I have a 2013 G Sedan. The auto transmission sucks. Especially in traffic. I love the handling, looks, value and performance but Auto is so jerky at lower speeds.

Seriously.

My better half always shoots me a look when I'm easing on the pedal from a stop and we lurch forward. I usually have to explain it wasn't me or that I wasn't racing anyone.

Luckily my wife drives the G probably more than me, so she knows it's not me that does that lol.

to the guy saying the auto is faster, stop smoking that crack lol. Most sales guys ain't car guys anyways lol. unless you have a DCT, a regular auto is not shifting faster than a 6MT.

Auto trans have more drivetrain loss and as far as gas mileage your case is flawed because the 08 5AT defs gets worse gas milage than the 7AT.

Are you saying a MT has a torque converter?

OP, knowing what I know now I would highly recommend finding an S. Well worth the extra changes some of which you just can't do to a Non-S.

No, I'm just a fool who likes wording things as convoluted as I can so people require a Rosetta stone to decipher what I'm trying to say...

*ATs have a TQ converter while the MTs do not. The TQ converter results in a greater loss of power through the drivetrain to the wheels which results in the MT models putting more power to the wheels stock for stock.*

fixed.

What are the changes that can't be done?

Mine just stomps on the pedal and swears she isn't driving aggressively - just accelerating to the speed limit quickly lol. No hard launch if you drive hard from the start am I right?

Yes, it is a little jerky, but more often than not, mine goes up a gear too early and will bog slightly... irritates the CRAP out of me. Never had a car do this. I do drive a stick too so I know it shouldn't be in that gear... smh
