Right. Makes sense. Except it doesn't. Fuel economy will probably go down cause you'll be revving it higher maybe?

TQ convertor is the reason all MT will result in fewer horses being lost to the wheels through the drivetrain. MPG is really all up to the driver. I've avg'd as much as 30mpg on a 70 mile commute and as little as 17 the same drive.

Lol not as drunk as you were when you recommended a manual over an automatic. Selling infiniti vehicles for the past couple years you'll pick up some interesting facts. Do a little research.

I repeat, a torque convertor...you can't argue that man.

edit* unless you know a top secret Infiniti secret, more power will be lost through the drivetrain of an automatic. As a salesman, you should know this.

you lose about 2 or 3 miles on fuel economy going to manual. And i figure yes since it is a sports car your going to feel more inclined to drive with a heavier foot shifting at higher rpms then the 7 speed automatic does oh and cuz you get that extra gear =)

Again, MPG is dictated by the drivers - as you indicated with the "lead foot" reference. I highly doubt just because you have a manual you will automatically decide you're redlining all day, everyday. Quite a few members who will argue that assumption. I have an auto and my last 4 refills have me averaging 18 mpg if I'm lucky. I'm also a spirited driver. But if you want to refer to sticker stats, sure maybe a 1mpg difference?

Just because there is an extra gear does not mean more HP. My mom had a CR-V with 13 gears. Does that mean it had 450fwhp? Our are you referencing gearing ratios? If that's the case, the AT is geared aggressively so that it is on par with the 6MT . Stating it has more HP though is just wrong factually.

Edit* the IPL has the most HP of the G37 line from the factory and that's due to an ECU difference...same engine, and transmission as, yup, all the other 6MT G37s. If you are going to state otherwise, post numbers not bro science

I mentioned the extra gear to add to the fuel economy point. The 0-60 time is better on the automatic in sport mode compared to the manual. The specs on the two is already different as you can see plus adding the way the person drives as well equals to it having less fuel economy. You cant argue with the manufacture specs at the end of the day thats why they have them no matter how you drive it states at least 2 mpg less. So with all that being said you explain to me how the manual is the better choice?

How is the AT faster? If anything, a seasoned 6MT driver will win. It will be by a hair but it is what it is even in "DS" mode. Again that's a gearing ratio argument not a HP superiority thing. I mentioned sticker stats, if we both drive at 60 mph for an entire tank I might get an extra MPG according to you. but to say "it doesn't matter how we drive" is ignorant to reality. You're telling me if we drove for a full tank of gas, you at 60 mph in a 6 MT v.s. Me in an AT in stop and go traffic I'll get better fuel economy? Cmon man. Also, fuel economy.gov have some models at +\- 2 mpg and others dead even. It depends on the model (coupe, vert, sedan).

Lets address the elephant in the room, the AT is more indecisive at selecting gears than my Fiancé at deciding what she wants to eat when we go out. MT > AT stock

7AT are also AWD vehicles which puts another 200 odd on the front axle than a RWD coupe; affecting the handling of the vehicle. If you want a more enjoyable driving experience, the 6 MT is the way to go

Def get a G37S automatic or manual (sounds like auto is more the safe choice for now lol (;!) Just make sure it's the RWD and true Sport version, not the "sport appearance" haha that's what I have and I also live in Atlanta! It's a very solid choice.

Cool man will do. Yeah I think I'll stick to playing it safe with an auto for this round. I'm keeping my eyes open but it looks like an auto sport is super rare over in our market? :O I think the closest one I saw a few days ago was in VA Beach!

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep my eyes open for one.
