G37 Newbie here

Just wanted to say Hello and more importantly THANK YOU!! I have learned so many specific things about this car just by searching this awesome site.

My 2003 Acura CL type-s (6spd) crapped out on me a week before my wedding(162K). So, when I returned from honeymoon, I was looking at used Maximas.....their CVT failures and shortcomings scared me away!!

I ended up buying a 2012 G37x(71K) a few days ago. I've always wanted a G and I regret waiting as long as I have to buy one.

Very pleased with the car so far and my Enkie Raijin 18" wheels fit perfectly! What a nice surprise. Just wanted to say Thank you to all the people that have contributed. It was very helpful to hear things from G owners that have experience in owning a "G".

Picture isn't the greatest, but I thought it may be helpful for someone who has a wheel question or was curious what they looked like.....

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your G! Those wheels seem to be a perfect fit! Any other future mod plans? Perhaps a subtle drop? It would definitely bring out those wheels!

Thanks

Thanks for the warm welcome. Right now, I just want to swap all the fluids and install a grom box. Recently, someone stole all the tools I owned. I also just got married and honeymoon etc. I've been bleeding money lately.

I'm just getting used to the car but would like to put a CAI, just for intake noise. I would like to adjust the delayed throttle on the car also, but will try cleaning intakes and MAF's first. Its going to need brakes soon. I will probably paint the calipers black. I like red a lot but it might be a little loud. A strut tower bar is appealing also.

Thanks for your interest

Nice intro Daddy of Geoff, those Enkeis are a nice looking wheel on your G. Painting the base calipers black is a good plan, better to have them blend then shout

Painted Calilpers

Yeah, I think the black is a little more subtle/appropriate. Is there a way to get a little more intake noise without installing a CAI or Ram intake? I swapped my air filter on my acura to a K&N and it was noticeably louder. Are K&N's adequate filtration for a G37? I would hate to buy them if they are going to let crap get in the throttle body etc.

By the way...Geoffrey is my cat.

What are peoples thoughts on red calipers on a white G with tinted windows and, soon to be, gun metal rims. I am torn on what to do
