I am buying a 2012 6MT IPL coupe with 30,000 miles. Graphite Gray and black interior. Excellent condition/one owner and replacing with my old 2008 G37S automatic.
Can someone tell me the differences in the entertainment system? For example: Does the 2012 IPL come with Bluetooth Audio or do I need that stupid 2008 cable? Does it use USB instead? I pick up the car tomorrow and will view it then.
My 2008 did not have bluetooth Audio. Any information on the differences between my automatic 2008 S coupe versus my 2012 6MT IPL coupe is appreciated.
Let me tell you it was a bitch finding this car in a 6MT! I had to trek half way across the county just to locate it! Auto IPL's are much more available but I was damn bored with the auto.
Is the 6MT more fun to drive versus the auto? This will be my first manual vehicle.
Thanks

Congrats! Yeah, IPL's are pretty rare sights - I imagine finding a 6mt IPL is even harder. I love my 6mt IPL. I can't personally compare with an IPL auto, but I've drive some dealership g37 / q50 loaners and I still enjoy the 6mt more. Then again I'm not saddled with rush hour traffic drives every day.
Also awesome that this is your first manual transmission! Have fun!
Dealership told me that in 2011 for every ten roughly one was an IPL and for every ten of those roughly one was a 6MT so this all makes sense to the rarity of IPL's.
Congrats on the purchase. I think the only change to the infotainment system for the IPL's was the removal of the hard drive for storing music. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they made the change in 2013.
It does have bluetooth audio AD2P I believe, or you can use a regular USB cable and run it into the USB input in the center console bin. It'll be a nice convenience upgrade over what you had.
I went with an auto after a lifetime of manual transmissions. Mostly due to commuting chores in a major metropolitan area. It's one less thing I'd be tempted to mod, too, LOL.

Good luck with the stick. They are fun in the beginning but if you have to commute in traffic they get old real fast.
Oh man first manual vehicle, right on! I assume you can at least drive a stick though right? This is my first auto vehicle so I can relate when everyone says the stop and go gets old. BUT, to me, for as little often as I would be dreading the clutch in traffic, I was far more enjoying the shifting at other times. If you plan to keep a stock clutch that'll help too. If you start modding and replace the clutch with something more stiff then yeah, you'll hate yourself.

Congrats and welcome to the IPL club. Yes, it has bluetooth. Yes, VERY difficult finding a 6MT IPL. My suggestion to you on the 6MT is this: RJM Performance! They make a clutch pedal assembly that replaces the horrible (IMO) factory assembly. Search on this forum for those that have it and you'll read the raves about it. A HUGE difference that you'll appreciate once you drive your IPL with the stock assembly. Caveat: You're still under drivetrain warranty, so swapping would likely void that warranty, although I doubt an Infiniti dealer/tech would even know the difference. RJM Performance.com Thank me later!
Thanks for all your responses! I just bought her in Chicago for $25,500 with 30k miles. She's being transported back to the DC area this week. Would have driven it but work tomorrow calls. I know how to drive a stick but since this is my first time owning a manual I'm surely a bit rusty. I'm sure I'll get used to it pretty quickly though. Btw- one owner vehicle with carfax and all service records in hand!
This is not a primary vehicle as I have an SUV so this is more a play car. Hence, any traffic no big deal.
Thats a great deal for this IPL! The problem with these cars is that 1) its a manual and 2) its a coupe. In a heavily populated area with adults w/ kids, these cars dont sell. Hence the deal you just got.
I got a similar deal with a Journey Coupe - I bought my car less than 1/2 price after someone turned it in with a 3-year lease and PERFECT maintenance every 3750 miles.
