Future g37 owner

Hello. New to the forums. I've been looking over these forums for a while now. I've gotten some good info.
I have a few questions. I'm considering the g37 sedan 2010+ or the g37x as well. Does the g37x have a different sound for the awd system? When I drove it i heard like a low wheel bearing sound but you can hear it instantly and doesn't get as loud as a wheel bearing noise. When I asked the seller he said it was the awd but I had no idea.
Can anyone confirm or deny this??
Thanks. Looking forward to spending more time here and learning more.

Welcome to the site Ron! Not sure about the difference between AWD & RWD regarding that drivetrain noise, haven't read of issues about it though

If you don't absolutely need AWD I'd go RWD, more aftermarket upgrades for it and less mechanical parts to worry about. Also 2012+ Gs have an improved timing cover gasket, models prior to that have just a paper one that can cost in the $2k + range to have it repaired. It's not inevitable but has occurred enough that you should be aware of it.
Enjoy the site,
Brad

Welcome to the forums Ron! I have a 2010 awd coupe and honestly never heard any type of noise that you are describing See if you could have a mechanic inspect the car for you and get their opinion on it before pulling the trigger.

And like Brad said unless you NEED the awd system just go for the rwd. I got the awd bc winters in NJ can get harsh. Also as stated the pre 2012 models do have some timing cover gasket issues but even though it's slightly rare it can still happen and that's an expensive fix and something I always worry about unfortunately so save yourself the stress over that

Best of luck with the decision and keep us posted on what you end up buying! Hopefully we can soon call you an official G owner!

thanks for the reply guys. yea after going home and thinking about it I'm not gonna do it. i don't need AWD at all. and that noise i haven't found anywhere that its normal so ill steer clear of it. I'm also going to try to find a 2012+ G for the timing cover gasket. already heard about it a few times. rather be safe than sorry later on can't wait to find my G tho!

I can confirm rear facing car seats DO NOT fit in the coupe. i had to wait to get my G37 coupe till both of my kids could sit in front facing boosters .
