Where to go in Cincinnati ? Houston? Dallas? New G driver

So I go to school up in Cincinnati although I live down in Houston,Tx. I'm driving a 2010 xs sedan anniversay edition and as far as I know it is completely stock. I was curious to know if anyone here from the ohio or houston/dallas area could spill some of their knowledge and experience on me. I have never ever in my life modded a car and I was interested in doing so. I also was curious to know where a good place to take my car is located if a mechanical issue arises. (other than a dealership). Is anyone familiar with any independent garage that they like? Is that even a thing? I'm really clueless and I just want to learn these sorts of things for myself now that I'm getting older. Thanks a bunch.

Welcome to the site, glad you found us
Review the top 2 "Sticky" threads in this folder for good introductions for various mods to your G. There's also specific sub folders once you find a few mods that you'd like to research.
G/L w/ the mod bug, it can infect you if you're not careful

Fellow Houstonian, I've been recommended by many of the car enthusiasts in Houston as well as on this forum to look up JTran Motorsports. From what I've seen around Facebook and other social media, JTran works on a lot of Japanese cars. Especially in the Nissan 350/370Z scene. Since our cars have the same engine it shouldn't be a problem for them to do work on yours. I plan on going to them in the future for a tune after I decide I'm content with the mods I plan to install on my Gina.

Are you asking about shops that do aftermarket work? I do 95% of my aftermarket work, but if I HAVE to take my car somewhere I like these two shops:
