BMW enthusiast turned G37 owner

How's it going everyone? I just bought a 2009 G37x with 84k miles. I've owned seven BMWs and was about to make it eight, but this car drew me away from BMW with its awesome overall value and excellent reliability... the power isn't bad either 😝. I was in a bit of a hurry when I went to negotiate price and talked them down from $15,500 to $14,000. Car fax shows only two owners, no accidents and 18 service r cords. It has the premium package, all black interior in excellent condition and the usual scratches and dents here and there on the exterior. I had to put new pads and rotors on the front (did myself ), had the transmission fluid exchanged and an alignment done. Did I get a pretty good deal?

Welcome to the site, seems like a decent price IMO.
Glad you found us!
Only had one BMW (an 02 745Li) and loved it when everything worked, not so much the rest of the time.

Thanks for the welcome! I thought it was a pretty good deal, especially considering I was planning on spending up to 20k until I found this one. It was posted on a local dealership's website at 9am, and by 2pm, I had a deposit on it. There aren't many of the AWD models around here... Loved my BMW's, never had a 7 Series, had a couple classics (E30, 74 2002), M3 and multiple 3 Series. I always heard the 7 Series were a little quirky, the 3 Series never gave me much trouble, though.

Nice looking G!
Post up some pics of your BMWs if you want, we won't ban you or anything, lol.

I also made the switch from BMW to Infiniti. Coming from a family of BMW owners I have always loved them. I used to own a 2000 323i 5 speed and have driven many others. Reliability was a major issue. That is why I switched over. You won't regret swtching. I love my G more and more everyday. Congratulations on your new G

I couldn't find an actual picture of my 74 2002, but this looks just like it, even the E30 bottle cap wheels.

M3 convertible

530i sport

1989 325i resto.

I'm loving mine more everyday too, but I did get a bit of a scare when I heard about the rear timing chain cover gasket issue the other day. I hope it's just a really rare occurrence with these. It supposedly costs at least $2000 to fix. The most expensive repairs I ever had on any BMW was $500 to overhaul the cooling system (required on all BMWs at 120k miles) and $500 to update the crankcase ventilation kit (all 2001 and up models).

Thanks blnewt! The red 89 was my favorite. Sadly, it was totaled in an accident a few years back.
