Random Questions

I purchased my 2008 G37S used and the previous owner did some modifications on the car so I don't know if these issues are standard or modified. Please bare with me...
  • when locking your car, does the horn beep? My lights flash but no horn beep
  • when turning on the lights, my **** has 3 clicks:
    • 1st click everything turns on (low beam and driving/fog lights)
    • 2nd click only the driving lights come on (or are these considered fogs)
    • 3rd click everything comes on again
    • is this normal?
  • the lights on both sides of my door panel are off. Does anyone know where the fuse for the door panel lights are located? It may just be that I have to just replace the bulbs but since both sides are off at the same time, I'm thinking maybe a fuse popped somewhere? As far as accessing the door panel bulb, I'm guessing the light cover just pops off with a small flat head?
Thanks in advance.

as far as the headlights, one setting is for auto-on, assuming you have that feature. i set mine to that and haven't touched it since, so i cant' help you much. look in your owner's manual if you have one, or the above link.

do the map lights come on when you exit the car? the door lights may be tied to those, and they may be turned off. check the switch by the map lights for on/off/auto to see what its set to. sorry, i'm no expert - recent owner myself.

Hold the lock and unlock button (on your fob) at the same time for about 5 seconds. That should fix this.

are you in canada? or the us? Canadian law forced Infiniti to modify the daytime lights to basically have your low beams on at all times, there are other tweaks as well. The manual should be the best way to find out whats going on.

Totally random question, why do you want it to honk? It's something I've turned off the first day I've owned cars that honk when locking. You can see the lights flash so why make a bunch of noise?

When I walk away from any of my cars, I reach into my pocket for the keys and press the lock button. Hearing the car honk is confirmation that it locked, without having to turn and look at the lights.

Different strokes. You do you.

You mean you dont look back at your car with love in your eyes every time you walk away? I still do even after all these years.

OK. Yes, you're right. You got me.

But when I walk away from my wife's car, or my kid's car, I'm Wolverine.

This. Why did I even get the DD Turn as Tail module if not to see my brake lights flash when I lock it?

One of the simplest, yet, my favourite mods.

I've got the tail as turn in harness too, but honestly the only time I think about it is when I'm behind another G37 with their blinkers on and I think to myself, "Look at that... mine look better." Otherwise, meh, it was just another thing to do.
