New Owner '08 G37S
Hello all
I'm NickyP from Atlanta area and I just got my first coupe and rear wheel drive car that I have ever owned, in the form of a 2008 G37S with 70k miles.
I had been driving a 2004 Honda Accord EX-L V-6 (236k miles), the transmission started giving out over the weekend and it cost more than the car was worth for a fix, so I limped to a few car lots. I initially was going to look at an '06 M3 but it had sold earlier in the day, the dealer showed me the G37s and I figured why not give it a try (not super crazy about the body style of it) and man alive, what a fun car to drive. Biggest engine and smallest car that I have ever owned. I look forward to being part of this community and learning more about what the G37s has to offer.

Hey Nicky,
Glad you found us and looks like you picked up a great car
Surely be a lot cheaper to keep on the road than the M3, and as far as the body style, it'll grow on you. Add a few personal touches and you should be even happier w/ your choice. Hopefully you can get over 200k miles on this one too.
Any plans for it?
Brad

I've never done any mod work on my cars previously (97 Chevy Malibu &04 Accord), but this seems like a good platform to work on.
Cosmetically, I'd like to do something about the chrome grill and lip spoiler, not sure if I will take them off and do a spray (darkened chrome maybe), but that is probably the cheapest way. After browsing the site some, I'd like to add a rear-view cam, especially with the blind spot on the driver's side, and maybe a USB/bluetooth integration to the audio, though I don't typically use my phone while driving. I have the 6-disc cd changer so it isn't intended to have the tech package, from what I understand. I also saw the DIY for changing out the black **** for chrome and it really gave the center console a nice look for a relatively low price.
Performance wise, I might eventually add a cold air intake, but I will probably wait until I have a house (which is what I was working getting before my trans went out in my now previous car).
I believe the car is currently stock, any ideas on what else to consider?

G/L w/ deciding what to do, and it's hard not to stop once you get going, so you've been warned, lol.
very nice choice on the white sir!!! youll be amazed on what you can do and will do to your car, its just a matter of time lol you can paint your grille yourself or pay someone $$$$ to do it for you, if yyou look at my G i painted mine myself, took like 1-2 hours thats it. anyways welcome to the G fam!
White wasn't my choice, it is what the dealer had in my price range, though I do think it is one of the better colors for the body style, it's also less common than the array of Grey, silver, and black that tends to dominate the G37 coupes in the area.
BTW, your grill looks really nice.

i think white is very nice dude, sometimes i regret getting black bc the white just looks so nice clean without a doubt lol but youre right about those colors being common, the red and blue are rare lol but thanks about the grille man! wasnt so hard, just taking the brackets and everything off sucked though the black grille def made the front end of my car look so much better.
