Hi, I have an 08 model g37. Was wondering if anyone has tried upgrading the navigation system. If so, what is new with the upgrade? Is it worth the time and expense?

 

Pretty sure the dealer has to do the upgrade for you on the 2008s...even if you purchase the actual software separately.

 

Right, that's pretty much what I was told by the service man when I was in today for my oil change. He just wasn't sure if there actually is an upgrade for my '08.
He gave me a website to purchase from if they have what I need, but unfortunately I seem to have lost the card. Was wondering if anyone may know the site I'm talking about?

 

I just did the nav upgrade on my '09 G37xS and can confirm it's the same 8,8 version you'll need with your '08 model. The upgrade only applies to the maps and updates streets and locations not in the system when the car was purchased. The upgrade does NOT change the way the system displays or functions.

Good news- the nav upgrade is on sale for $99 (from $149) and I paid my local Infiniti dealer $55 to install it. Took about an hour to finish and I think it's worthwhile from the standpoint of having more current maps in the system. I probably won't be updating it again after this, however.
