This a great post and well researched. Thank you. One comment I have is that strut tower braces could be moved to the aesthetic category. Being a former track junkie I don't think a tower brace will knock a second off your lap time even though lots of folks, including me, have used them. Thanks again for your work.

I am installing front/rear sensors for park assist and want to pose the question of what other modifications would be easy or fortuitous to complete while I have significant parts of the interior removed to run the cabling as well as whatever portions of the dash I find worthwhile removing to mount the ecu and display. I am definitely putting in a backup camera and blindspot sensors, would like some input on what to purchase from those who have experience with them. Also, would like to be able to display my smartphone (iphone 5 currently) on the display and need to know what is required to do so, please include input on hardware. Is there a dual integration of backup camera and smartphone mirroring that also has additional input for expansion, like a dash cam?

Is there much of an advantage to upgrading the monitor? How much improvement do you get in upgrading the stereo unit?

If this should be moved to its own thread let me know. I don't want to hi-jack this one, just thought it was a thread that could address some of the mods I am talking about.

Thanks for everyone's input it is appreciated.

Thanks man. This was great help. I looked up some of the reviews of the K&N filter and it seems that you might be better off with OEM.

Upgrade your rotors to premium aftermarket rotors (centric)

What centric rotors for a non-sport G37x coupe..?

2. Horsepower
The best HP performance mod you can do is Forced Induction. These cars love boost, and any bolt ons (exhaust, intakes) will see only marginal HP boosts.
Cold Air/Short Ram style Intakes (K&N, Sillen, Takeda, R2C, Injen, Greddy)
As far as intakes are concerned, the two main types are long tube style, or short ram style. Short ram has the benefit of being simple to install, does not require bumper removal, and adds minor sound changes)
Long tube intakes pull cold air either from very low in the engine bay, or from in front of the radiator. These typically see bigger hp gains, but require modification to the radiator shroud on occasion. You might also need to add the slim washer tank.
Intake Manifold (Motordyne, Z1)
Header (Fast Intentions Long Tube Headers, Z1 short tube, Stillen short tube)
High Flow Catalytic Converters (Fast Intentions, Berk, Stillen, among others)
Test Pipes (same companies as Cats)
Catback Exhaust (Apexi, Tanabe, HKS, Greddy, Borla, Fast Intentions, Motordyne, Magnaflow, Top Speed, others)
Tune (either dyno professional, road professional, email tune, or handheld tuner unit)
Grounding kits (DIY)
Forced Induction (GTM twin turbo, GTM twin super, GTM single super, Stillen Super, Fast Intentions twin turbo)

There you go, now you're an expert.

Welcome to the forum, watch your head!

Hey you forgot to include NOS!!!

I'm looking at purchasing a 2012 model coupe and found a nice example. It has 20" Vossen wheels........ I noticed the sport models only offer a 19" Will I be giving up much comfort for road trips and have to spend more for tires for these rims? How hard and expensive is to find 18" for spares? I love the wheels but want to go into this with my eyes wide open.....Thanks

I have 2010 G37 Coupe Wanted to know if anyone can tell me if you can put window visors (like the weather tech ones) on it all I am finding online is the ones for sedans.

Also if ones for a 350z would be compatible to my G?

Any websites you can recommend that have them for sale or that do custom work for that kind of stuff

thanks
