Long Time Lurker, FINALLY Owner!

Hello all,
After lurking, educating myself and drooling over the G's represented on this forum for 4 years almost to the day, I finally pulled the trigger on the G I wanted and fits my life.

I have been bouncing between G37S 6 MT coupe to G37xS sedan depending on my life's circumstance over the year, and after research and confirmation, I am a proud owner of a liquid platinum 2011 G37S 6MT sedan w/ 26K on the odo.
I live in Colorado and it's snowing outside right now so pictures will have to wait. I am in the process of acquiring a set of X-ice Xi3's with A/M wheels to wear during the winter months. On this topic, I'd like to go with a square set up for the winter tires/wheels with 225-50-18 all the way around. I know that the Abekono caliper can create clearance challenges for 18" non-sport wheels but the local discount tire guy is confident that I will be good to go with MB Wheels Weapon, 18x8 w/ 30 mm offset. I would appreciate any inputs from members on this setup!

I drove about 70 miles back to bring it home last night. Man, I am impressed. I love the smooth power and regardless of other members' comments about the Infiniti 6MT, it was precise enough and had a satisfying notchy feeling. The torque definitely enables you to stay in a high gear and still get up to speed in traffic. I love it.

I just wanted to share and join in the conversations, most likely in the sedan forum!

Cheers!

Jim

Welcome to the site Jim, sounds like a nice S you found, congrats on that
Rather than the cheap MB wheels I'd look for a set of 19" coupe wheels for your main setup and just use your current 18s for the winter, you can even run the same size all around like a 235/45/18 (I ran those exact tire sizes on my staggered Sport wheels on our 07 G35 without any issues). That way at least you'll have quality Enkei rims for all seasons and the 19" coupe wheels look real nice on the sedan. That's assuming you're about ready for new tires on your 18s You can find used 19s in our classifieds for nice deals, just be patient and they'll turn up. You can also post a WTB (Want to Buy) thread in the classifieds w/ certain wheels you're looking for.
Any particular tire/wheel questions just post in this folder

for prompt replies or shoot me a PM for specifics.

Hey Brad,

Thanks for the recommendation! Believe me the thought did cross my mind. However, the car came with brand new A/S Yoko Envigors so I would have to dispose of those. Maybe down the road I can look into a 19" setup.
I'll make sure to post or search on the tire & wheels forum.

Cheers!
Jim

Didn't have anything constructive to add or questions that I couldn't get answered by searching until today. So, here I am. Looking forward to digging deeper at next steps.
Thanks for the welcome!
