New owner need help
New to the forums and also a new Infiniti g37 2011 owner. I had a quick question. I am obviously anxious to put in upgrades to the engine and the body. I am not too knowledgable about cars unfortunately. My question is a cold air intake worth buying and will it improve over all performance and gas mileage? Will I be able to install them on my own even though I am not too familiar with cars? Thanks guys. Also I purchased my car from Infiniti dealership with 22,000 miles..will that be an issue?

Welcome to the site, congrats on your new G.
Intakes won't add much hp gain and may actually hurt mpg since the sound is what is the main allure and to get the sweet sound the rpms will be over 3500rpm. Install may involve some cutting to fit the tubes depending on which setup you choose. Like Pong said, many threads on the site about intakes. Just browse the site, there's worlds to discover out here

I installed Takeda intakes in my G37 myself couple of years ago and I did not know anything about it. It was super simple. I'm actually selling them right now in the classified ads section as I returned my G a month ago - lease ended
Welcome to the forum Ryan! Wheels or intakes are usually among the early mods for most of us. My best advice is to do a LOT of research upfront to know what the end-state is that you want for your car, i.e. lowered, new exhaust, intakes, etc. I've bought, installed, uninstalled, sold, and then ultimately purchased/installed what I should've in the first place because I didn't take the time initially to form an integrated concept for my car. As blnewt said, there's probably nothing that you can do to your G or add to your G that's not buried in a thread in this forum. Freaking awesome library at your fingertips. Good luck and feel free to reach out to any of us that have done a mod on your to-do list. Happy New Year too -- drive safe.
Short ram is a 15 minute job CAI I believe would be harder and having to remove the bumper or at least the grill. Be aware that most dealers don't cover anything affiliated with aftermarket parts, a friend at the service center told me they rejected the request for a compressor because they blamed it on the intake and by having mods they inspect his car everytime and supervisor is required to approve any claims. I live in New York but it could be different elsewhere
I have the stillen gen 3 CAI and I lost about 1mpg but it made my car sound a little bit more aggressive, I know almost nothing about cars but I installed it by myself but it was a pain but worth it to me.
