Getting a 37x coupe, just a couple of questions

Hey everyone,

I'm looking at getting either a 2010 or 2011 g37x coupe next month. I test drove a 2010 model over the weekend and that pretty much confirmed it. Handled great and an amazing drive. I'm coming from driving a Mazda 3 for the last 5 years. I just had a couple of questions that hopefully you would be able to answer.

I'm in Toronto so obviously I'm interested in knowing how the car handles with snowy weather. This is why I'm looking at getting the AWD coupe.

How is the reliability is engine and body? Obviously no car is perfect, so are there things I should be careful with or look out for? I'm looking at cars that with 40,000-50,000 kilometres so I was wondering when and if I will start noticing performance issues.

Finally, if you have any other pointers it would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing back from everyone. Thanks!

Can't confirm w/ the X but Infiniti Gs have a very good record on reliability and safety. I wouldn't be too concerned in that regard. The main thing is finding a clean obviously well cared for car. Just give it a good going-over and if you feel you need to take it to a mechanic for more peace of mind that's not a bad idea. The X models do well in the snow as long as teh tires are decent. Hopefully you can find one w/ aftermarket tires as I've heard the stock X tires aren't the best. I know the Goodyear RS-As are a horrible tire

Supermario...After I totaled my 2012 G37X when a truck ran me off the road, I researched replacing it with a Mercedes, Lexus or Acura; however, after extensive soul-searching and research, I am the proud owner of a month old 2013 G37X with stock everything. (I do plan on putting Ingen long-throat cold air intakes in the near future, but for now, she is stock) Even with original OEM parts, including the tires, the handling and agility was so impressive whether in rain, sleet, snow and even hot, dry weather, I had to buy another G37X AWD (traction control and "snow" mode came standard.) I live in StL, and we have all types of weather that I have to drive 70 plus miles a day for work; therefore, I needed something I could trust to get me through EVERYTHING the flaky and tough mid-west weather dished out. Lil Red was the answer to all of my needs. She never hydroplanes even in 3-4 inches of standing water and climbs up and down icey and snowy hills like a mountain goat. By the way, I live in a house off of a busy main thoroughfare. My driveway is narrow and sports a 40 percent grade that you cannot get a running start to go up without the luxury of space to continue a slide at the bottom of when going down. All of the features (including stock tires) enabled her to navigate easily in all conditions. I could feel the traction control and AWD sending power to the tires as required when they lost traction. Good luck and keep us posted on what you decided!
