G37 Buying Advice

I am new to the luxury / sports car purchasing. I have convinced my finance that G37 would fit the bill for your desire to have a BMW. I am looking at new or say a 2009, 2010, 2011 used. I think there was some model refinements in 2010. I also am looking at 4 dr sedan , AWD would be nice but not required as I am in North Carolina. I am thinking base with premium package. Any wise advice for me as I go about making my purchasing decision?

If you go used, shop and around and make sure you at least get the sport package.
Welcome!

Before deciding on AWD or RWD with the sport package (if that's what you want), make sure you thoroughly understand what you're getting and not getting with each. Being in NC, the choice should be obvious (sport, rwd, not awd), but your needs/requirements may differ from mine.

thanks, I had a CRV that has AWD on demand. FWD normally but back wheels would kick in if for example you hit a patch of black ice (which can be common in NC). The shift to AWD was pretty smooth so I think that was an advantage to have it. I have lived in NY, Ohio, and now NC for around 20 years and there are some times when we get enough snow that at least FWD is helpful. thanks for your reply

I typically run summer tires in the spring-fall, and snow tires in the winter. AWD can definitely have its advantages. For me, the extra weight, more complex drive line, poorer fuel mileage and lack of manual trans were the deal breakers.
