New convertible owner

What's up guys, my name is Alan and I am the proud new owner of a moonlight white G37S convertible. Just wanted to say what's up, and that i've been browsing this forum for the past few weeks and finally decided to join.

I have lots of questions on my mind about modding my baby, but since the convertible section is not really helpful (yes i have read ALL the comments bashing the convertible haha) I was wondering if you guys had any input/advice for me.

1. I do like the "oreo" theme, but NJ law won't allow me to get my front windows tinted AT ALL, so anybody have any other schemes that you think might work out? The car would just look kinda off what a blacked out grill, blacked out headlight housing, and an overlay for the rear with untinted windows right?

2. i hate my rear antenna. It sticks out like a sore thumb and is pretty much useless if you're using XM. I read the thread on getting an OEM spoiler to replace it, but is that something the dealer can do for you or that you would have to buy it and get it done somewhere else? And after i replace it, should I remove the stub where the antenna screws in?

3. Besides the obvious hood and trunk differences, is my car body and build the same exact as the G37S coupes? I've noticed many mods are specific to the S model and not to the Journey or X? Is that right? I guess my real question is, if there's a mod I see on a G37S coupe, will it be easy and/or similar to put onto my convertible?

Thanks for your input guys, I hope to be one of the first with a suped up G37 vert.

Welcome on board on Alan! I walked in here expecting pix man haha

Well to answer some of your questions

1) Even without front tint the car would look sick IMO, but that's up to you

3) Mods that were X specific were solely due to it being all wheel drive and front axles etc would get in the way of aftermarket coils etc.

The Journey folks on the other hand, have a different looking front bumper meaning front lip kits, splitters etc would have a hard time fitting right assuming they did. Things like intakes, exhausts etc fit the same for both.

Can you be specific what it is you're looking at when it comes to mods?

Your in Jersey, just get the 4yr new car inspection done on it and get your car tinted, when its time for inspection again, just rip off the two front windows. Hey, its been 4 years by then, whats $100 to re tint it again once you pass the inspection?
