Noob to Gs with a new '08 w/pics

Howdy ... as the subject line suggests, I'm new to the G line, to MyG37, and to performance cars, in general. Assuming I did it right, you can see my '08 in some pix below. This is a new (had all of 12 miles on it when I picked it up) '08 that I purchased at the beginning of June '09. I hadn't really been planning to buy and certainly hadn't thought that an Infiniti was in the cards when I started looking at various rides. I'd been looking seriously at the Genesis Coupe and test drove both the V6 MT6 and a 5 speed auto in the 2.0L Turbo. I was quite happy with the V6 ... that is, until I stopped in the Infiniti dealership just to see the 37s in person. (I live in a very remote area and I can't say that I'd ever actually seen one except online.) Well, it was lust at first site and then I noticed that I was looking at a steeply discounted new '08. When I saw how it was equipped and the price tag, I was hooked. When I did the math on a financing which brought the price differential between the Genesis and the '08 G37 much lower than I'd ever expected, I was sold.

So, I ended up signing paperwork for an '08 Journey with the Premium and Navigation packages. The only way I could have loved the deal even more is if it had been a manual transmission. Maybe next time, eh?

So ... here's the ride out where I live and work ...

Grats on the new G! Look at it this way, you got the best in luxury the G37 can offer, in D there's no smoother G out there and in DS it won't jerk you around and still be loads of fun.

I wonder how long it will be until the mod bug bites...10, 9, 8,...

... 7 ... 6 ... 5 ...

Funny you should mention that as I'm currently searching (to no avail, at this point) for any info on a mod to be able to turn on just the fog lights. You may have noticed from the pix that I work and live at an observatory. Driving around with headlights is a no-no but driving around some areas with fog lights is OK. I need a fix that doesn't involve ripping too many things out to let me turn on the foggies w/o the headlights.

Check this out: http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/355642 or https://www.myg37.com/forums/2244807-post56.html.

Or something like this: http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=4253892. Don't know how bright these would be and you can also get amber bulbs.
