Just bought my G37s
Just bought my G37s
Pulled the trigger this afternoon on a 2008 IP G37s with 5AT, all options except nav. Sent Black Betty some cash for the grounding kit. I pick it up tomorrow (the car, not the grounding kit) at noon... very, very excited!!
I was on the fence between a 335i coupe and the G. I just could not get over how much more I preferred the styling of the G and how close the two were in performance (with a slight overall edge to the BMW). But, after a little negotiation on the 2008, I was $14,000 less OTD compared to an equivalently priced 335i. I think the gap is closer in the US but up north in Canada, there is a HUGE price difference. On top of that, you guys on this forum are FAR nicer and more pleasant to talk with than the guys on the bimmer forums.
Speaking of being in Canada, I got the dealership to throw in a set of Blizzak winter tires
which I will put on in late October. On days when there is a lot of snow (about 10-15 per winter where I live), I will take the wife's Veracruz. Every other day it's the G
.
I hope I can sleep tonight
I will post pics soon.

It's a crossover utility vehicle by Hyundai (a.k.a. SUV). It is their luxury model and they compare it to the Lexus RX350. Motor Trend compared the two and put the Veracruz as better considering the price. Having said that, many people would not see a Hyundai as a luxury car company but, with its new Genesis and the Veracruz, it does have great luxury models. The Veracruz runs about $10k less than the Lexus RX350 and has a better warranty so it is a great value if you can get past the badge.
OK... so I have spent some time with the car and I am completely in-love...
It is solid, comfortable, sounds great, corners great while still soaking up the bumps. It is fast, it is luxurious and it is beautiful, absolutely beautiful, inside and out. My wife drove it for a bit and, in spite of her concerns with me "getting a car that is impractical and too f", had to fast" had to admit she loved the throaty exhaust and it was a lot of fun to drive.
My brother-in-law gave me a little grief for not buying the 335i coupe until he saw the G today. His comment was that it looked great from every angle and the interior was far nicer than the 3 series...
