LOL -you guys are hilarious.

G37nS2K, no one is burning you for your purchase of the G or the S2k. however, you came to this post with a negative attitude. perhaps introducing your self and backing up your arguement with pics would be ideal. this is a great forum and you should find info about the G a plenty. Just keep in mind that this is a G37 forum and if i wanted to know how much "cooler and practical the s2000 is" i would go to an S2k forum.

By the way, comments you made regarding automatics is offending to some people and so is saying the G has no character.. but then saying you like the S2k more makes no sense. especially if your having trouble shifting in the G when clearly the S2k was designed for elves.

congrats on the whip and im sorry these next three years will suck for you. for some people (like me) this will be the most enjoyable three years thus far.

good point!

but im not here with negative attitude nor i tried to offend anyone here
when i mentioned about the Shifting, i meant how perfectly gearbox is designed in the S not the way they shift in gears
i took my S out today for a long time

loved the engine screaming in the Vtec zone, turned the corners quickly like i could never do in the G i sure love the S2000 but it feels like everything is squeezed inside and stiff suspension made me miss a G a little..

i guess G and the S they have cons and pros
maybe i will start liking the G soon we will see....
and i apologize if i offended anyone with my expression towards the G

it seems the charcteristics you admire are that of a track/sports car...then yes the S2000 fits the bill. the G37 is a sporty grand tourer...it's competition is a 3 series so that should tell how "sporty" it is.

btw-+1 on the S2K shifter...smoothest shifts in the world....taking it up to 9K (yes, i am an F20 fan) and rowing through the gears...ugh..just magic.

Take it easy guys. I own an S2000 too (2005 NFR) and it's a perfect car to take out on a Sunday morning to the hills, put the top town, and let it rip. The gearbox is the best out there and the sound- wonderful.

But it IS a car with 8-year-old technology so it does rattle and it's too loud on the highway and you can't really put anything in the trunk (actually, the G's trunk is pretty small too).

Now, the G is great in its own way. It's more of a grand tourer for me. The 6-speed is not offered in my country so I'll have to settle for the 5AT. After coming from an S2000, I just love the torque, the insulation (lack of noise from the tire/road/etc), and the amenities (The S2000 has two speakers).

When I was living in NY, I dreaded driving the S2000 from NY to DC to visit my brother but I wonder how the G would do. I know I'd be a lot more comfortable that's for sure.

These are two great cars and I'm lucky to have driven them both. Now can't we all just get along? lol

I had some family business to take care of so I moved from NY back to Taiwan for a while. Taiwan is a country of stop & go traffic so 99% of cars are automatics. I was cross-shopping with the 335i but couldn't swallow the $100,000+ sticker price car (no I-drive, automati.) The G is a lot better looking than the 335i with a much lower sticker price. And, again, coming from an S2000, I AM LOVING THE TORQUE!

FYI, the BMW dealer was next to the Porsche dealer and I took a peek at several Porsche cars in the show room. All are automatics too.

are you sure you bought the right car?
You know what man, I dont think he bought the right car... It's so weird to see people buy new cars and not be extremely happy with their choice or purchase (esp w/ a $42,000+ car). Sorry man

Exactly, if I'm not excited to the point of having trouble sleeping the night before picking up the car then I wouldn't get it. It should feel like Christmas morning when your a kid. Or maybe I'm weird and have too much of a car addiction

i perfectly understand your feelings. i was exactly like you with my first S2K back in 2000. i literally woke up in the middle of the night to go look at my car. and i was so obssesed with a car that when people lean on my car i would go off like crazy.

would you guys believe if i said my G37S doesnt get the garage and have not washed it ever since i got it and i started to smoke in there already which i have not done in the s2k...
like youguys told me something is wrong with my purchase... i meant i like my car but im really careless though....

^exactly what are you looking for on this forum? are you looking to get validation that you bought a nice car? are you here to complain? are you venting buyers remorse? i've read this thread every time it pops up on new post, and honestly cant figure out why you bought this car.

i don't think many people here get where you are coming from. you certainly bought the wrong car for you if you like your 8 year old s2000 more than your g. first off, you are comparing a sports car to a GT car. why didn't you get a z4 or a miata or maybe even a 350z? i think it is safe to say that most people here would never own a s2000 and cant understand you. honestly the car is made for people under 5'8" and lacks torque. don't get me wrong, the car is great for what it is designed for, but is definitely not nicer by any means than the g (for just about all the people on this forum). the more you complain about the car, the less the people here can relate. sell the car, or just use it as your daily beater and let that be that.
