just got a G37S w/ Everything

Hi guys, i just got a G37S w/ Everything.

really wanted a 335i Coupe but the Money Factor made a big differences in

payment in Lease . But so far so good. i dont regret getting the G37S

it is so roomy, comfy, and quick. but is it just me or...

i dont feel as exciting as when i drive 05 S2000 in the G37S. it feels like it is

just another car out there without character.

maybe i need to get used to it

hope to learn much about my car here with youguys

i not sure what to say to this post.

.."just another car out there without character."

...didnt you test drive it before you bought it? The G37S has a lot of character in my opinion. through suspension, engine performance, transmission is excellent and sound -theres nothing like it. there are many cars that have these qualities but not all have their ducks in a row like the G. not to mention your getting a great value for the money. The S2k cant be compared to a G in the same way a G cant be compared to an R8 or an M3. The S2k has very distinctive driving characteristics that are in no doubt as a result to its power to weight ratio. although the G may be a lot heavier than the S2k -the luxuries and anemities you get in return are the compromise of a luxury sports car. If looking for an S2K'ish driving character/dynamic perhaps the 370Z would have been your best bet in my opinion. All in all the G is a great value sports car -not a race car.

anyways thats my 2cents. congrats on the new ride.

hey dont get me wrong and im sorry if i offended you

what i meant by character is something like u can see in S2ks. In other word, UNIQUENESS.

such as 50/50 weight distribution, unique 4 Banger engine produce +240 Plus variable timing lift. handles like it runs on rail road

and this F series Engine only equipped in S2000, but im sure the engine we have in our G will be on another vehicle from Nissan or

already it has. i was driving my G and my gf told me i look so uncomfortable shifting gears because i literally have to move my whole

upper body towards front to be able to reach the gear box good. S2k has world class gear box if you just reach your hand out and its

there. G also comes with automatic so all the girls and grandma can get it and cruise in it. these kind of things....

please dont be offended im just bare comparing these two cars i own and i simply concluded that S2000 is a better car in my

own extremely biased point

sametime G37S is also nice car and so far i love it. My S2000 is heavily modified and im planning to do only exterior modification to

the G for its bling factor

i forgot to mention, i got G37 for my work purpose , i drive a lot and i needed something comfortable.

You're likely to get a lot of disappointed and surprised replies to your post...after all this is a G37 forum...

You have to decide when making a statement like S2K is a "better" car...what consitutes "better"???

perhaps better in some of the things you mention but...what about taking 4 people instead of two? what about the noise, vibration and harshness associated to the S2K? what about true luxury in a car that can blow most others clean off the road? what about I-pod interface and kick a$$ stereo?

You get my point...the criteria is important...to make a blanket statement like you did is just not fair...to either car or those that love them...

If every time you get in your G...you're thinking about all of its shortcomings, you'll never learn to like it for what it is.

I have worked long and very hard to finally afford a car like this and I can tell you that I am impressed every time I get in it...because I set my expectations at a reasonable level and look for the positives as opposed to any negatives...

and that's my two pennies.

Surprised to hear that. Up here in Canada the lease rates on the 335 are really low. Don't know what 'money factor' is cause they don't have that here, but 3.9% (less .5% if you are a repeat customer like me) and 57% residual.

At those rates a 335 which costs about 10k more than a g35 sedan is about the same or a little less to lease. Definitely less than a g37.

I'm not offended by any means. I love my car and don't share any of your concerns regarding its short comings. The fact that your points make absolutely no sense, is enough for me to disregard any credibility you might have had pertaining to the matter.

For example, when you state:
i got G37 for my work purpose , i drive a lot and i needed something comfortable..

I say: did you test drive it before you bought it?? Why not the G35S? If comfort was your benchmark -why the G37S with stiff suspension and sport seats? I mean you already have a sweet S2k you can race around.

secondly, you stated:

i was driving my G and my gf told me i look so uncomfortable shifting gears because i literally have to move my whole upper body towards front to be able to reach the gear box good.

I say: did you test drive it before you bought it?? Not all cars are designed for the 100 percentile mass market. G is one of those. thats why its unique. otherwise we'd have a 2 door taurus or a pontiac G6 coupe.

Lastly, you stated you didn't mean to offend anyone:
[QUOTE=G37nS2K;2274064] G also comes with automatic so all the girls and grandma can get it and cruise in it. QUOTE]
I'm sure that guys that have Semi-auto G37's share your thoughts on this one.

I think the real difference isn't that the G doesn't have character...after all, you have to admit that most Infinitis do. It is probably what attracted you to the G in the first place, right? It is the fact that you are comparing a grand touring luxury vehicle to an sports car. It's as simple as that...apples to oranges.

Either way...congrats on the purchase.
