1st Post. New Car. Good Deal?

Hi Everybody!

I just leased a G37 Sport 6MT. I have not yet read a single post on this forum, but I wanted to sign up with what looks to be the best forum for these cars. Are there other popular forums?

History: I lost my highly modified 1991 3000GT VR4 to a crash a few weeks ago. I am a long time member of the 3Si forums. I miss my baby VR4, but it was time for me to move on and try my first brand new vehicle. This G37 seemed by far like the best performance/luxury in my price range (the only car I test-drove that felt like it had anywhere close to the power of my old VR4).

Car: Blue Slate / Graphite / Sport Coupe. All options except NAV & Technology (Premium Package, Mud, Sunroof, iPOD, Cargo Net, etc.)

Price: The sticker was $41k. I signed a 39 month lease for $2000 down (including 1st month payment) and 38 payments of $409/mo. I feel like I got a killer deal, but please tell me how this compares to others.

I hope to get to know you all soon. I'm already loving my new car! (even though I am still morning my old one)

You are right. You have found the best forum on the web. There is a few other forums with a couple people on there but there are not any forums that are as good as this one!!

As far as your deal... I cant comment on the lease quote. But if you tell me the price your talked them down to in the end... then I can comment.
A good deal if you have 4WAS is around 38,500. If you didnt get 4WAS then anywhere around 37,400 is a good deal. +/- 500

WELCOME! CONGRATS!

Congrats on the new car. honestly, i guess cuz ur in a different state its a good deal. leasing in cali (LA) is expensive for Gs if u only put down 2000. my friend put down 3000 and pays 625 a month...

yea leasing depends on where you are at. supply demand etc. cali we pay more for everything but i have seen a few good deals. Question at the end of the day is do you feel like you got a good deal or not?

Congrats on the new car i don'[t think you will miss your baby after a few mods.

Unfortunately, it will cost me an extra $800 to ship it cross-country as I am moving. I was going to just test drive here in CA and buy in NJ, but the pushy dealer convinced me it would be difficult to fine the exact configuration I wanted in NJ at a price less than even $2800 down, $409/mo.

I hope I don't get screwed on license/tax when I transfer states.
