Question 7500 mile service and resurfacing break rotors

I am about to have the 7500 mile service, and have the break rotor resurfaced. I have not called the dealer yet, and I am wondering how much shall I expect to pay for teh service( Probably only an oil change and I can't think of what else needs to be done at this 7500 miles point) and if the break should be covered by warranty.
Thanks.

What's wrong with your car to require this? Are the rotors warped or something? If they're warped under normal use, they should be replaced under warranty. This shouldn't cost you a dime considering it's only been 7,500 miles.

Wards use to do this to everyone .It was on tv.They do what is called turning the rotor .The use a lathe and spin it and make it smooh again. They don't tell you it can only be done like 1-2 times then your rotors are undersize. If you ever get it inspected it will fail.A new rotor probably 300 bucks on our car.Companies always want to do this.If warped thats another thing all together.

It's an 04 auto. Yes, the rotors arer wrapped. I took it in to Jim Coleman couple weeks ago, and the service manager said it's caused by not driving the car much and rust on the rotors caused the problems . Doesn't make much sense to me, but what do I know?
I actually brought the car in for a strange noise. When I completely remove my foor from the gas paddle at ~30+mph, I could hear this thumping sound from under the car. I was told by dealer it's the air rushing into the air intake, and it's normal. I am still not convinced it is, so I will ask them to check again the the service.

First. Rotor warpping is caused by heat caused by driving, not the lack there of. Second our air intakes don't make any noise, thumping or otherwise.
I'd recommend taking it someplace. If youre out at happy hour or something, I would get an opinion from one of the members.

That all sounds like BS to me. Even if the rotors are warped by getting wet, it should be replaced under warranty. The bastards at Jim Coleman sold a car they were going to sell to me as I drove in. To me, they are pretty shady.

sometimes, you have to drive the car hard in order for it to function well ....

They did the same thing to me when I got my car back in 04. Then one of the salesmen started giving me a snobby attitude when I wanted to test drive a sedan vs a coupe.

I said f'em and ended up going to JBA in Ellicot City and bought my car from them.

Id say if youre in MD, take your car to JBA or to Sheehy in Annapolis. I Like Sheehy better now (used to go to JBA), but its also closer to my house so Im biased.

That is the biggest bunch of bs i have ever heard. Now you can over tighten lugs and they can warp.Rust and warping are not related.Heat and hard braking can cause warping. You cant force them to fix it .If i remeber there was a tsb on brakes on auto's maybe 03.But you shouldn't have warping.I have and 04 6mt 41 0000 no warping.Take it to another dealer. It suck and is a pain but may save you hundreds of dollars.

If another dealer says that Jim Coleman was full of **** then I would call Infinitis main office and report it. Just think of all the other poor souls that they are scamming.

you should be able to get the rotors at least resurfaced if possible or replaced if your car is still within the manufacturers basic warranty period. I resurface rotors on a daily basis due to warping and every now and then due to rusting. Infiniti should honor that under warranty.
And yes, rotors don't warp due to rust. And you can safely recurface rotors 1 to 2 times before they are too thin to be under the specifications.

Thanks for all the info from you guys. I had the car serviced last week at JCI and total bill came to be $120. $40 was for oil and filter change, and $80 were for 7500 mile service. The dealer listed what they did for that $80 which included: lubricate door hinges, top off fluid and tire pressure check. So for you guys out there approaching first 7500miles, you probably should escape that and save yourself that money for something else.
They had also resurfaced the front rotors and now the vibrations were gone, but I also lost the "grabby" feeling about the break. The break feels not as instantaneous as before, and it requires more paddle travel to have the same stopping power I had before. It stops fine, but I kind of missing that more "sporty" (I don't have a better description for this) feeling about the break before. So is this normal? Or there is some adjustment on the car can alter this feel?
