Great Camera Deal
I didnt see how many megapixels it had, but I am guessing it has 6 based on the SD600 name? The prices is really good. I actually bought a Nikon 8.1 w/ Wifi capability for 265 which is originally priced on their website for 550. I got it from Pricegrabber. That camera is freakin awesome. I dont know if the price is still the same, but do a search for the Nikon Coolpix P1 or search the Nikon website.
For those that have used an SD camera from Canon before, they are truely awesome piece of machine. They are constantly top rated in term of compact digicam. I bought my SD300 back in the days for $350 and that was a bargain, prices on digicam have dropped big time as with most hi-tech stuff. I can only imaging the SD600 being that much better. I'm really happy with my 300 even with not as much pixel. This is a great price, though it will keep dropping for sure or you can buy a SDxxx in a few months for this price, that's the pattern I am seeing. You will need atleast a 1g hispeed SD card, the normal speed might have trouble with video recording. Only problem i had with mine was when i dropped it, cracked the lcd screen. But awesome part is, I called up canon, ordered the screen and swaped it out!! need to throw in an exhaust and a turbo and i'm set
It's a great deal if you're in the market or have an older digicam with less than 4 megapixel. If not, don't bothers, it'll only get cheaper.

I think that's a good point. Me personally have used my camera phone no more than 10 times..hehe simply for those spur of the momment snapshot of my co-worker sleeping at his desk..ahaha Personally, I carry a camera if I anticipate taking picture, although phone are gettin better and better, i personally would rather spend the extra money to buy a good camera phone on gettin an SD.
Brian, dont judge how good a camera is by megapixel count. The only time when megapixel matters is if you want to make big prints. whats much more important than pixel count is the picture quality and how the camera process colors. I have a Sony DSC 5mp camera, one of the sleekest and fancy looking camera on the market. However its picture quality is only above average and pales in comparison to some of the cannon cameras. In fact 5 mega pixel is even too much for me, i end up resizing all my pics to 1 or 2 megapixels before i post them in my online album.
if you are trying to spend big time money on a 8MP digital camera, its much smarter to just buy a DSLR camera like the Cannon Digital Rebel XT. DSLR owns regular digital cameras big time.
Anyways this is the only good deal that i know of... and I personally would get this camera over a lot of 7,8MP cameras on the market. The ones that are truly better and can match the picture quality of this camera cost 2x or 3x as much.

deals for the DSLR digital rebel XT, what i and many consider to be the best camera under 1000 bucks. this is the type of cameras that serious amature photographers use, good enough for business applications like taking pictures for newspapers and magazines.
