Great Camera Deal
I've got a D50... picked it over the XT for its more solid feel and ergonomics. Also in the DSLR world, as Terry already said, xMP doesn't matter as much as your image processing and "glass" so I immediately got a prime lens w/ low f-step to give me some creamy bokeh...
as Puria once said, where's the fun in taking pix of a bunch of stock G's... dirty ones at that? ha...
You guys see 10til4's nights shots of cars in the carwash on my350? http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=172301 - those were hot!
Hot like this bowl of soup - really like the natural feel of using available light, even when indoors.

In fact 5 mega pixel is even too much for me, i end up resizing all my pics to 1 or 2 megapixels before i post them in my online album.
if you are trying to spend big time money on a 8MP digital camera, its much smarter to just buy a DSLR camera like the Cannon Digital Rebel XT. DSLR owns regular digital cameras big time.
Anyways this is the only good deal that i know of... and I personally would get this camera over a lot of 7,8MP cameras on the market. The ones that are truly better and can match the picture quality of this camera cost 2x or 3x as much.

yeah, my next camera is gonna be a SLR. I love the optical zoom capabilities of those and Cannon is my brand of choice. I have a 3.2 MP camera from them from 2 years ago and the pictures on there are still betteer than some I have seen of higher MP cams. Terry is right about that. 3.2 is a bit out of date now though.
