If I am ~20 and really wanted full acceleration in a race, I would go into 1st... Rev matching as best I could of course.

yeah i think thats logical because youd end up around 4k in first... and ud get that max power all the way up to 7k, then by the time you hit 2nd, you are around 4-5k again and getting that max power. rev matching is the tricky part, its easy to do it slow and make it land perfectly and smoothly back into 1st... but I dont think i can pull it off fast enough to make a big difference. perhaps devon can shed some light on this.

I think you can. I can rev match any gear that would be logical of the gear im currently in. Its not always a perfect match but its close enough each time.

i just give it a good 1500rpm every time, usually it ends up very smooth, sometimes theres still a tiny bump. I use rev match a lot now to slow down the car without braking. I think it might be a bad habit that puts more wear on the clutch though.

im not 100% on this but i believe only the 505hp C6 Z06 can hit 60mph in first gear under 4 seconds. the regular 400hp C6 and previous gen 405hp Z06 couldnt do that and needed low 4 seconds to reach 60mph.

ok I dont know what I did the first time, but I hit 39 at about 6700 rpm :P and yes, those vettes do hit 60 in first gear. When my friend (mechanic at GM) brought me in to test drive the new z06, I almost mis-shifted to 2nd gear cause I was pushed back in the seat approaching 60 in freakin 1st gear.. haha what a rush
