a package of 90 minute TDK blanks...in 1977 to record some of my LPs before driving from NJ to Seattle.

I don't recall what my 1st purchased tape was - preferred to record my own from vinyl.

For some weird reason, I *do* recall my first 45s and LPs. 45s were early Beatles releases (my kid sister and brother later used them as frisbees - I have forgiven them). LPs were a recording of 1812 Overture (I liked the cannon part) and Peter Shickele's "PDQ Bach at Carnegie Hall" (still have it). Yes, I was a weird kid.

Texasscout - your having to put up with an 8-track of The Association (I hope "Windy" was on it) was true penance - consider your "G" to be your reward in this life!

 

Actually, my first 45 was "Wendy"!

On the other hand, my brother's (3 years younger) first album was by Blue Cheer, "Vincibus Eruptum". He was a rocker from the "get go".

 

Yeah, don't forget the old guys First album Boston...same time bought a KISS 45 with Detroit Rock City and God of Thunder on the B side...Yes I am as old as hell!
