it seems like a very small leap vs the leap from 8bit to 16bit to 32bit to ps2.
im very underwhelmed after reading this article. Id have to call it Xbox 1.5 instead of xbox 360 for now.
but of course graphics isnt everything, good games is what matters.

 

it has to be played on a HDTV to fully appreciate the graphics. Trust me, there is a big enough diff that I am happy about it. I would have sold the unit otherwise heh.

 

damn thats kinda dissappointing...i really couldnt tell much of a diff, not enough to justify the price. only thing is graphics usually improve in time.

i also read today that there's a hugh class action suit against microsoft for the xbox 360. apparently ppl are claiming MS force pushed out the release of the 360 for sales/marketing reasons w/o working out all its bugs. alot of ppl on the class action suit complain of freezing, and hanging up...

 

Until they put out some quality, 360 exclusive games, I won't even consider getting a 360. I'm in no rush to pay that much + $60 for games, when all I'm getting is visuals.

There just isn't a game out right now worth spending $400 to play.

 

I think the problem with the current host of games is that they weren't really made to fully utilize the 360. I see some games coming in a year or so that will put the XBox to shame. Of course I'm still waiting for the PS3, on which there will be an obvious leap from PS2.

yeah i agree, the full potential of the 360 hasnt been recognized. most of these games were developed for the xbox and just re-rendered slightly for the 360. Once the exclusive xbox360 games come out around next year, youll see a much bigger difference.

 

i have no doubt in my mind that xbox360 games are going to look better in the future. elder scrolls and gears of war are both looking like true next generation games. With that said however, the current exclusives like Perfect Dark, Kameo etc are not much above the EA ports. I just remember when SNES came out, it was jaw dropping compared to NES, and PS1 was jaw dropping compared to SNES, and the PS2 launch games were Jaw dropping vs PS1. Xbox360 clearly looks better than Xbox but dosnt leave me in awe right now, and that limits the potential it will eventually have.

PS3!!! Can't wait. I hope they make Gran Turismo 5 or whatever like driving the real thing.

 

i ran into the newest Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer that just came out today. It shows Kojima being the master cinematographer that he is demostrate the MGS4 demo in real time, this is sort of a technical demostration.
