Nav help?

Just picked up my G35 today. Used 2003. Don't have directions for the Nav system. Never had one before. :P Anyway is there any directions online any place or will I have to order a book from Infiniti? I can use it to just follow the map and stuff but don't know how to program it at all. Haven't messed with it a whole lot yet.

Any help? Thx btw. Sitting here in my hotel room trying to read over the owners manual so I am not such a newb.

Two suggestions. (Assuming the Nav in the 2003 is identical to the 2005.)

1) If you bought private sale, ask the seller if he/she has it.

2) Don't buy one. Either borrow one or get someone to spend a half hour with you. My wife picked up on how to use it in a couple of days. For example, we have some closed roads over here in MD and she has "programmed" the Nav to never route her thru those spots.

Will contact him tonight when I get home from work.

I pretty much figured the sytem out by sitting in the car for about an hour before leaving Cincinatti. The only thing I can't figure out is how to change the state from Ohio. If I can get that might not need a book. It is set on Ohio and can't seem to find where to change the state. Lets me change city /town but that is it.

Benj,

First clear the memory. Press SETTING and choose "Navigation" and then choose "Clear Memory" and "Yes" --- This will bring you to the Settings Screen. The choice you'll need to make here is whether or not you want Short Menus... only displays commonly used choices OR Expert Mode... displays all choices. My wife has hers set to Expert Mode as she is still figuring out how to do some things with the Nav.

In Expert mode, Press DESTINATION and up the top you'll see "State" and "City" and below "Street" followed by a Keyboard. Highlight "State" and select it. Change to MD or VA.

Hope that works.

Yah, did the clear memory thing. Lets me select the city and stuff but the state part is greyed out. I might be in the wrong menu area. Will try again tonight if I can figure that out most likely won't need the book.

Also, now that you have cleared the memory of the previous owner's gf's, etc, I assume that if you try to set HOME as your residence's address that it will ask you for the State first thing. Thereafter it will default to that State until you enter a destination out of your state.
