VA/MD/DC Smooth Operator Program

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. They are really cracking down from now until mid August. I got a speeding ticket on 66 saturday night going 70. He paced me the whole way. So please everyone be careful.

Wow - 70?! I know that's technically over the limit and therefore subject to a ticket, but still. I really wish I could make it to Summit for HyperDrive in mid July to get to run the car at speed, but I will be at the beach.

Good thing is that it ain't reckless, but still, a ticket is a ticket... Very sorry to hear. Hopefully my beater isn't nearly as attention-grabbing as our G's...

Don't they usually say the points and/or fine on the ticket? Yeah man that definitely sucks.

ya i think its like $3 for every mile over the limit...55mph vs 70mph is 15 over...

15x3=45 in addition to any other BS fees...usually like $40 fee..prob. looking at $75-90.

just be glad it aint reckless!!

yeah definitely. I'm going to cut my speed down even more from now on. Prolly drive speed limit or 5 over..... I think 5 over is now risky.....

i noticed this thing on the news a couple weeks back..not local either..it was the peter jennings (evening news/nbc nightly news) stating that police officers around the country are not enforcing speed limits, up to 10mph over. This was on two different networks and was seen nationally and I figured great...this is all we needed. now the streets are filled w/ po po's...we need more driver's like Jesus!!

So did the cop tell you about the new program that they're trying to crack down? Or did you just hear about it from another source?

Probably the same jerkoff that pulled me over on 66.
