MD/VA Performance Shops

Ok so I have a sort of dumb question b/c I should know the answer but I can't think of anybody off the top of my head except for Altered Atmosphere Motorsports. What are some other reputable performance shops in the area? I know there is Evolution but I haven't really heard great things about them.

BTW, I'm asking for a friend, he wants to get some exhaust work done on his Cadillac El Dorado.

Evolution Autosports in chantilly at sully plaza, they deal primarily with s2k's, 350z's and of course our beloved G35. I got everything on my G from there. Contact Steve at 703-961-9090. tell him i sent you =D

Lots of mods are easy to do yourself just have to take a bit of time. Things like Turbo's and S/C's that is better left to a pro unless you know what you are doing. Somethings like springs and exhaust can be a pain but not too bad.

Some do like piece of mind letting a shop do it.

Yeah, a lot of the easy mods you can probably attack on your own and if not, you can always seek help on the boards here. There are people that are always willing to help. I myself am not even the most inclined person to install stuff but have been learning with some of the great help from the members of the club.

As far as performance shops go Ive only taken my car to Altered Atmospheres. That was for my Crawford Header install. Initially I was trying to do it myself (with alot of help ofcourse) but they were a major pain to get in. After a couple of weeks of my car up on jackstands and only being able to get the driver side header in we decided to call it quits and I would take it to a shop.

Anyway, I took it to Altered and they had it done in a couple days, which was nice. Unfortunately I noticed that 2 of the passenger side bolts were almost falling off and 1 wasnt even there! Also, I had 1 collector bolt missing from each cat.

The people at Altered were pretty cool, but after that experience Id never go back there again.

So from what I've read both AAM and Evolution are not reliable.

ya but thats an auto body shop..i dunno if id take an exhaust system or a S/C or turbo for them to install. from what i see these shops that consist of young bucks doing the work/labor usually half *** hence all these stories i read/hear about loose and missing bolts. id personally take my car somewhere that the people have more experience. theres a place in springfield my friend put a larger turbo into his WRX...i forgot what its called...but places like that are where Id trust. Sorry but I dont trust ricer boys installing parts in a 30k+ car.

Planning on getting a S/C but will need to find a place to install it. Most of the rest of the mods I will do or get someone to help me.

I can help people put stuff on soon as I do it on mine or see it done or if someone has extra time we can figure it out together.
