Hawk HPS Brake Pads

To Puria and Greg (and anyone else):

Have you installed the pads? What are your impressions? Also does it make any noise? Thanks.

Pads have been on for 3k miles. Much less dust than stock, similar bite and feel. The don't squeel in normal conditions, but do sometimes when really cold or really hot. Had to grind the edges to get them to fit in the calipers.

So it's hard to make them fit?

From other threads on the subject, there seems to be some variation - some require alot of work; some slip right in. I was a little worried that mine didn't go in, but was quickly solved by a little dremel action...

Oh okay...so it's not always the case. Vic do you have Brembo or non-Brembo. Since I'm replacing brake pads it's a shame to go back stock since the stock pads are expensive anyways. I'm also considering the Nismo Pads. Have you heard anything about them?

Brembo ... I was considering Nismo, but for the cost, I thought I'd apply the difference to a future set of rotors.

See, I'm about to order it...and I try to keep my "small orders" around 300 or less. So if I get the Nismo brake pads then I will have to wait on the aluminum pedals. I'm keeping only to small orders for now. Until I buy the rims or tires!!! lol Tires are expensive man. The prices are ridiculous.

yea I hear ya you must be referring to 19 inch tires. I remember when I was looking at tires briefly they were like $250 each.

what's the price difference between the stock pads and the hawk pads? that's something that'd be good for me know for future reference.

Norm, the stock pads just emit a lot of brake dust onto your wheels (if you haven't noticed that already) but the Hawk pads hardly release any brake dust. I believe the difference between them in performance is none and has less squeaking on the Hawk pads? Either way they are just better pads because of the less dust on them.
