Lek,

The Hawks have similar if not a slight better bite, MUCH less brake dust than OEM. I used to have to clean my wheels at least every other day or every 2 days whereas now I can go over a week w/o cleaning. They wont squeak if you properly seat the pad backings and use this 'disc brake quiet' spray. mine initially squeaked but i removed them, reseated them and used the spray and voila!!! no more squeaks!!

Alright. The pads are on!! I'm not sure how much I like them yet. But they brake pretty good I guess. Time will tell.

UPDATE: My brakes squeel like crazy. Is it because I didn't change the brake shims? You know the little metal pieces on the back of the pads. Or is it because I should have used brake disc quiet stuff.....??? Also is this harmful to the brakes? Where do I buy replacement shims? It didn't come with my new brake pads.

Everything I've heard about the Hawk pads are you're supposed to use the brake squealing spray on it. Did you not do that? Did you bed them in properly?

Lek, my pads squealed before I used the spray as well. I just took off the wheels/calipers again and sprayed and that was the end of that. I also reused the metal shims but since the spray havent had any probs. Your supposed to spray the back of the pads where they touch the shims as well as the back of the shim which touches the caliper on BOTH sides. Make sure to cover the side of the caliper w/ the piston (inner side) of the rotor/wheel, but DONT get any on the face of the pads or on your rotors....that spray is veeeeeeeery hard to get out, even off your skin.

The Hawks definitely have low brake dust. I've done a lot of hard braking and it doesn't even seem like there's much dust at all.
