sign up if you're in VA. At least we have something to deal with this new law.

Everyday now, I see cops w/ like 2-3 cars pulled over writing tickets.
Everyday this week, I have seen bike cops on 495 and 95 literally just walking up and down the shoulder lanes pulling people over.
Just monday, we were in bumper to bumper traffic and were coming down 95 and this lady drives past a bike cop who is walking down the shoulder and he just flags her down. For what reason? I have no idea, but honestly it can only get worst.

I have an Escort 8500 and am on the Escort Radar Newsletter list. They sent out this one today:

Seems to be a big news item. Kind of ironic they're talking about the $3K speeding ticket in VA yet radar detectors aren't even legal here!

This sucks considering I have to re-register to VA tags soon and will be subject to these Common Wealth entrapment laws.
Question for your VA folks. How much are you paying for personal property tax on your G yearly? Is the first $20k value of your car exempt or am I seeing things.

Signed and I'll be spamming this to all my VA buddies.
I take FFX County Pkwy home each day and I see bike cops stationed at well known choke points near the traffic lights flagging cars down for not wearing their seatbelt. It's a sickening state sponsored money grab IMO.
35% tint and black interior FTW!!!

man, it had 1,700 signature this morning when Lee posted and now only a few away from 5,000. I'm not really sure how the whole petition thing works. I'm sure the law maker expected this, so not sure if it'll change anything. They're going to get their money one way or the other.

a few months back i posted a thread about cops in northern VA. Has anybody noticed HOW many people are pulled over these days?? I mean literally ANY/EVERY time I leave the house (even for a 2 min drive to the store) I see somebody pulled over. In addition, I see at least 3-4 cops everytime I step in teh car. WTF is going on?!?!
I noticed the cop activity in VA pickup as of late however I saw the funniest thing last weekend. Upon approaching traffic there was 3 cops lined up behind a minivan for some reason. Once I got closer, I realized one of the cop car had rear ended the minivan. The damage was not horrendous but definitely pretty bad to the point where the cop car's door was jammed closed from the impact. His hood buckled and fenders bent out of shape. I'm just wondering if the cop got a ticket for causing that accident and now paying these Civil fees too?
There is a guiding light folks!!! Remember the red light cameras in Fairfax County a few years back? There was such a severe push back from the county residents, that Fairfax County decided not to use the cameras anymore and turned them off. I believe there was a petition about that as well. However, places like Arlington County, and D.C. still swear by them.
