However, places like Arlington County, and D.C. still swear by them.
Actually, the law was a temporary law from 97-05 to study the effects in select northern VA locations. It expired, no petition needed.

This new law, also allows the use of red light cameras throughout VA. Each jurisdiction is allowed 1 camera/10,000 residents. Don't be surprised to see them back up soon.

If that's the case, why is law enforcement doubled and tripled in NoVA since July 1st when the law was instated? That's rather fishy.

Just checked and the petition has over 70k signatures and growing. With this kind of momentum, the state government and the governor himself will need to address this.

Yep getting good. Fox5 just did a story on it last night @ 11pm. They talked about the petition going around and how some people are regretting that they live in VA now. They also said that you might not have to pay those civil fees anymore, which IMO could mean good news.

Haha, I'm just speaking the truth man. Words means nothing in politics. I couldn't be more happy if these civil fees would go away since I'm planning to register in VA soon. It would be nice to not be targeted by the increased number of speed traps and be subject to outrageous fines.
