Unhappy Help!! Scratches On My Car!! Any Ideas?!

Hey Everyone,

I'm not great with cars but I have a black g35 coupe and i just changed the emblems to Skyline and 350GT. However after washing my car, I noticed a huge patch of scratches all around the lettering, i guess from using the Goof Off with a paper towel too hard or something.

I tried using this old bottle of Scratch-Off i found in my garage but it didn't work. Anyone know of any other products that will get the job done? I'm trying to get rid of them before my dad sees

Thank you so much!

sorry buddy but paper towel on car = very bad idea, thats why they sell the nice microfiber cloth =/

if the scratches are really superficial, you should be able to wax and buff it out. but otherwise i have no idea ... never done anything like that

yea.. paper towels are bad for paint.... try SCRATCH-X if the scratches arent too deep... if that doesnt work then waxing, buffing might help

Use rubbing compound/ with a cloth and enough pressure. Then wax that should help the scratches.

wet sand it.. and buff it out..

perhaps 1200 grit, or 2000 grit sand paper

then use a kind of polishing compound with a high speed buffer

Thanks for all the help guys. I really appreciate it.

I tried waxing and buffing it out, didn't work

I'm not experienced enough with cars to do the other stuff

I purchased some 3M rubbing compound and i'm gonna see if that works

In case it doesn't, anyone know about how much it would cost to fix at a detailing shop? It's just a small scratches around the stock Infiniti and G35 lettering. I don't want to get screwed over on the estimate since i'm not that car savvy...

Also, if you recommend any places near me, that would be helpful. I live in Cockeysville, MD
